A sterling silver Sea Turtle hangs on a 16″ ball link sterling chain with simple spring clasp. The turtle measures 3/4″ wide by 1 1/8″ long.
The shield is backed with a 1 3/8″ diameter disc of brass . The top piece is sterling silver with stamped designs. Sandwiched between is a heavy disc of brown leather. All three are pressed together by a sterling silver rivet. Above this are two hand forged sterling arcs, for balance. This assembly drops down 2 1/2″ from the thong and hangs close to the throat chakra. Some of my pieces have designs that represent the four directions, as does the central disc in this shield necklace.
Every component is hand made. The end caps on the leather, the hook clasp, the subtle little charm with an eye symbol.

This design is inspired by my favorite Oak tree that lives near me.
Here’s my process:
The design is hand drawn on paper and glued to a sheet of brass:
Holes are drilled into the metal to thread a tiny saw blade through for the jewelry saw and the tree pattern is cut out:
The backing is soldered on, corners get rounded, the whole thing is hammered into a shallow curve and belt hardware is soldered onto the back.
Sorry, folks, this was a special gift and is not available.
